Definitions

Vegan – Vegans do not eat any animal products. So, no meat (of any kind), eggs, dairy, or other animal ingredients. Many people choose a vegan diet for health reasons. When motivated by concern for animals and the environment, vegans also refrain from wearing clothes or using other products that are made using animals.

Vegetarian – When most people think of vegetarians, they think of people who do not eat meat (beef, pork, poultry, fish, or animal flesh of any kind), but do eat eggs and/or dairy products. Unfortunately, some vegetarians consume higher levels of eggs and dairy products as a replacement of meat. For best results, replace meat with non-animal products because eggs and dairy cause some of the most severe animal suffering, in addition to having negative health and environmental consequences.
